York Men and Women Each Finish Third at Brooklyn Invitational

, NY– The York College men's and women's cross country teams put together one of their best performances of the season Sunday. Both teams placed third at the Brooklyn College Invitational.  The men's team finished with 88 points, behind Drew University (41 points) and John Jay College (66 points), while the women's team tallied 71 points, coming in just behind host Brooklyn College (61 points) and Drew University (64 points).

 

Kenny Jacquet led York with a fourth place finish, running the 8k race in a time of 31:23.  Tarik Weekes also put together his best race of the season, finishing 12th in a person-best time of 33:11.  Ronel Phillip also had a personal-best time of 33:18 and finished 15th.  

 

On the women's side, Taneisha Renaud placed eighth overall in the 6k race, finishing with a time of 27:54.  Alexis Schloss and Alexandra Nkrumah also had a solid meet, placing 12th (28:56) and 13th (29:12).

 

York will close out the regular season next Sunday, when they run at the Hunter College Invitataional at Van Cortlandt Park.
