Renaud Leads York Women to Fourth Place Finish at CSI Invitational; Men's Team Places 10th

BRONX, NY— Taneisha Renaud finished in eight place, running the 6k race in a time of 27:59 to lead the York College women’s cross country team to a fourth place finish at the College of Staten Island Invitational Sunday morning.  The men’s team finished tenth overall. 

 

Suffolk Community College, with 95 points, won the women’s race, while Queens College took the men’s 8k race, scoring 65 points.  The York women finished with 130 team points and the York men tallied 246. 

 

Also having a nice meet for the Cardinals was senior Alexandra Nkrumah, who finished tenth with a personal-best time of 29:18.   For the men, Kenny Jacquet had the top finish for York, placing 33rd overall (33:16).  

 

York will run at the Brooklyn Invitational next Sunday beginning at 9:45 a.m.

If you’re interested in playing either women’s tennis or running cross country during the 2010 school year be sure to attend the upcoming interest meetings. 

 

The women’s tennis team will hold interest meetings on August 6, 9 and 13 at noon in the gymnasium, while the cross country team will hold its meeting on August 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the gym.

 

All those interested in competing should attend these meetings.  For more information, contact the athletics office at 718-262-5101.

BRONX, NY— The York College men’s cross country team scored 130 points and earned a fifth place finish at the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships on Sunday morning in the Bronx.   The Hunter College Hawks, won the championship, scoring 34 points.

BRONX, NY— The York College women’s cross country team placed three runners in the top ten en route to finishing second at the Hunter College Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday morning.  The men’s team, meanwhile, earned a seventh place finish.

BRONX, NY– The York College men’s and women’s cross country teams put together one of their best performances of the season Sunday. Both teams placed third at the Brooklyn College Invitational.  The men’s team finished with 88 points, behind Drew University (41 points) and John Jay College (66 points), while the women’s team tallied 71 points, coming in just behind host Brooklyn College (61 points) and Drew University (64 points).

BRONX, NY— Kenny Jacquet finished third to lead the York College men’s cross country team to a third place finish at the Queensborough Invitational, while Taneisha Renaud finished sixth to lead the women’s team to a sixth place finish at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, Sunday morning. Jacquet navigated the 8k course in a time of 31:37, while Renaud ran the 6k course in 29:22.
