Box Score

NEW PALTZ, NY– Junior guard Maimouna Dabo netted a game-high 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds but it would not be enough as the York College Women’s Basketball fell to Tufts University, 68-60, in the consolation game of the SUNY New Paltz Tip-Off Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Things looked promising early on for the Lady Cardinals when they jumped out to a 9-2 lead following a jumper by Kadisha Wickham with 16:14 to play in the first half.  However, Tufts quickly responded with an 11-0 run which was capped off by a three-pointer by Colleen Hart.  Later in the half, with Tufts leading 25-16, the Jumbos scored nine unanswered points and took a 34-16 advantage with 3:04 to play in the half.  Tufts would take a 37-19 lead going into the locker room.

In the second half, York was trailed 68-52 with 2:56 to play.  The Lady Cardinals scored eight straight points to close within eight but could get no closer.
