STATEN ISLAND, NY— The York College tennis team was eliminated in the first round of the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships Tuesday falling to the top seed, the College of Staten Island, 5-0.
Staten Island took three points in the doubles, dropping just one game in three matches combined. York then dropped third and fourth singles to end the match.
Despite the loss, York’s season is not over. They will visit St. Joseph’s College (LI) on May 5 at 4:00 p.m. in a non-conference match.
Staten Island advances to the semi-finals and will meet Baruch College on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
