Jacquet and Agu Lead York at CUNYAC Championships

RANDALLS ISLAND, NY— Kenny Jacquet and Chinedu Agu each scored in two events to lead the York College men's outdoor track and field team at day one of the CUNYAC Championships Sunday. York currently stands in fifth place heading in to Tuesday night's finale.
Jacquet, a distance runner, placed second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 34:37.01 and was fifth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:33.62. Meanwhile in the sprint events, Agu earned a second place finish in the 400-meter dash (50.10) and a seventh place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.75).
Also scoring for York was Elijah Evelyn, who placed seventh in the shot put with a distance of 9.94 meters. Evelyn also finished seventh in the discuss with a throw of 25.75 meters In addition, Shawn Young finished fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 39.01 meters.
In the team standings, Lehman College leads with 140 points, followed by Hunter College (109), Medgar Evers College (65), CCNY (45) and York (43).
The final day of competition will take place Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. at Icahn Stadium.
