Women's Swimming Drops Meet to John Jay

Pazmino Wins Two Events in Losing Effort

NEW YORK, NY— The York College women’s swim team dropped a CUNY Athletic Conference meet against John Jay College Tuesday, losing by a score of 61-33. 

 

John Jay scored wins in three of the first four events and won seven events overall.  Despite the loss, York earned three first place finishes.  Freshman Sara Pazmino won two events, taking first in the 200-Individual Medley and the 100-breaststroke. Dawn Davis was also victorious in the 200-freestyle.

 

The loss drops York’s record to 2-7 (0-4 CUNYAC), while John Jay improves to 4-4 (2-2 CUNYAC). York will host Lehman on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Swimming Tops Old Westbury, Falls to USMMA on Senior Night

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s and women’s swim teams each defeated Old Westbury but fell to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on “senior night,” Thursday evening.  The men defeated Old Westbury 51-20, while the women won 40-14.  Against USMMA, the Mariners defeated the York men 62-32, while the York women lost 62-31.

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s and women’s swim teams fell to conference-rival Lehman College Tuesday evening. The men lost by a score of 96-78, while the women fell 116-84.

York Swimming Drops Tri-Meet to Sarah Lawrence and FDU-Florham

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s and women’s swim team fell to Farleigh Dickinson University at Florham, while the women also lost to Sarah Lawrence College in a tri-meet held at York College Thursday evening.  The women lost 94-28 to FDU-Florham and 85-37 to Sarah Lawrence College.  The men lost by a score of 130-97 to FDU-Florham.
