Hamilton-Lopez Named CUNYAC Player of the Week
JAMAICA, NY—. York College senior guard Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending January 17, 2010.
Hamilton-Lopez was instrumental in two key conference victories last week. On Monday, against Baruch College, Hamilton-Lopez scored 30 points, shooting 10-16 from the field and 5-10 from three-point range to lead the Cardinals to an 89-85 triumph. Then on Wednesday, in an 84-64 win over City Tech, he added 15 points and handed out eight assists.
On the season, Hamilton-Lopez is second in the CUNYAC in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game. The Cardinals, winners of eight straight, stand at 12-5 overall and 6-0 in CUNYAC play.
They will visit Hunter College on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
