Indoor Track and Field Makes Strong Showing at Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, CT— The York College men's and women's indoor track and field team made a strong showing at the Wesleyan Invitational Saturday. The teams combined for seven first place finishes.
Women's Recap
Sophomore standout Kadisha Wickham took a break from basketball season and won two events, the 200-meter dash (25.94) and the 400-meter dash (1:02.05), while also placing second in the high jump (1.47m).
Senior Alexandra Nkrumah earned a fist place finish in the 800-meter dash (2:23.66) and senior Taneisha Renaud was victorious in the in the mile run (5:56.89). Junior Chianne Ashman also added a first place run in the 55 meter dash (7.38).
In the relay events, the team of Nkrumah, Wendella Rankin, Wickham and Allana Wilson won the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:09.68.
Men's Recap
Ronel Phillip was the sole member of the men's team to finish first in an individual event, winning the 800-meter run in a time of 2:03.53. The 4x400 relay team of Phillip Tarik Weekes, Lance Fleming and #Paul Adetola# won the race in a time of 3:35.93.
