York Basketball
Fans Can Win Tickets on Jet Blue Airlines by Attending the Game on Saturday

JAMAICA, NY— The pairings have been announced for the upcoming CUNY Athletic Conference basketball championships.  The men’s basketball team, the top seed in the playoffs, will host #8 CCNY on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., while the women, the fifth seed, will visit fourth-seeded Staten Island on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The men finished the regular season with a record of 19-6, 12-1 in the CUNYAC and won the regular season title.  The Cardinals will be seeking their fourth CUNYAC title and their first since 2007.  York defeated CCNY 84-72 earlier in the season.  Should York advance, they will play the winner of the Hunter College and Medgar Evers College on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of CCNY.

Saturday will also be “Spirit Day” at York College.  A number of great prizes will be awarded including tickets on Jet Blue Airlines during halftime.  Free t-shirts will also be handed out to all fans (while supplies last).  The festivities will begin at 1:00 pm, prior to the beginning of the game.

The women finished with a record 13-11, 8-5 in the CUNYAC and are looking to win their first ever CUNYAC title.  York lost two close games to the College of Staten Island this season but will be looking for the upset on Sunday.  Should the Lady Cardinals win, they will take on the winner of Baruch and Medgar Evers on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

The championship game will take place on February 27th. The women tip-off at 3:00 p.m. and the men play at 5:00 p.m.
