JAMAICA, NY—The York College men’s basketball team won its 13 consecutive victory Wednesday evening in dominating fashion, defeating conference-rival the College of Staten Island 102-61.  With the win, the Cardinals are now just two wins shy of the school record of 15 straight wins, which was set during the 1999-2000 season.

York (17-5, 10-0 CUNYAC) opened the game on fire and never looked back, thanks to some strong shooting by Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez.  The senior guard connected on six three-pointers in the first half.  He finished the game with 29 points and eight-three-pointers, which tied a season-high.

Two-time reigning CUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Week, Marcel Esonwune finished with a game-high 30 points, while also grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking five shots.  Ryan Exum added 16 points and four assists and Jeremiah Fuller had seven points, three assists and three steals off the bench.

York shot 50 percent for the game, while the Dolphins (10-11, 5-5 CUNYAC) were held to 37 percent.  York also out-rebounded CSI, 46-31 and was +10 in turnover differential.  The game was one-sided in every aspect.

The Cardinals will look to make it 14 straight when they host Medgar Evers College on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
