Men’s Volleyball Sweeps City Tech on Senior Night

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men's volleyball team made a strong effort on senior night, defeating conference-rival City Tech 3-0 (30-24, 30-22, 30-19) on Tuesday evening.
Brian Francisco led the Cardinals with 12 kills and a .400 hitting percentage, while Bryan Williams banged ten kills. Senior Jeff Walcott, who has honored before the game, picked up nine kills and Alex Niles also picked up nine kills to go along with nine digs. Aruni Piantini scored a match-high 33 assists, while also recording eight digs.
City Tech was led by Johnny Santana who finished with 12 kills. Danny Desmond led the Yellow Jackets with seven digs.
With the win, York improves to 13-16, 8-6 in the CUNYAC and City Tech drops to 8-14, 5-9 in the CUNYAC.
The Cardinals will return to action on Sunday for a tri-match at New Jersey City University. York will take on Stevenson University at 12:00 p.m. and NJCU at 2:00 p.m.
