BROOKLYN, NY— The York College softball team was swept by NYU- Polytechnic in a doubleheader Sunday, losing 13-0 in game one and 15-3 in the game two.  The two losses drop the Lady Cardinals record to 0-4.

Game One

The Blue Jays put up six runs in both the first and third innings, putting the game out of reach early.  Corrine Fitzgibbons was 2-2 with a home run and 4 RBI's to lead Polytechnic. The York bats were silenced in game one as the Blue Jays' Miranda Mirelli held York to just three hits, while striking out nine.  The Lady Cardinals' Laura Ulloa picked up two of those hits. 

 

Game Two

After scoring two runs in the top of the first, the Blue Jays pounded eight hits in the top of the second and put an eight-spot on the board to go up 10-0 after two innings of play. York scratched across a run in the third on an RBI single by Brittany Patalano and scored two runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Joviette Frederick and Geneva Faulk.

 

York will host St. Joseph's on March 29 at 4:00 p.m.
