Belizario Named CUNYAC Softball Rookie of the Week
JAMAICA, NY— York College freshman softball player Thessaly Belizario has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the period ending April 25, 2010.
Belizario has an impressive week both on the mound and at the plate. In the Cardinals only action of the week—
against the College of New Rochelle— Belizario tossed a no-hitter in game one of the doubleheader, striking out six batters in a 22-0 victory over the Blue Angels.
At the plate, Belizario went 3-5 combined in the doubleheader, scoring seven runs, driving in three and walking four times to lead York to sweep of New Rochelle.
Belizario and the Lady Cardinals (6-18) will return to action on Tuesday when they host City Tech at 3:00 p.m.
