Cross Country Runs at Hunter Invitational

Both Teams Place 16th Overall

BRONX, NY— The York College cross country teams returned to Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday afternoon, running at the Hunter College Developmental Meet.  The women's team placed 16th, while the men were 11th.  
 
Leading the way for the York women was Johane Accime, who placed 42nd in the 6k race in a time of 25:35.   Joviette Frederick was the next Cardinal to cross the line in 61st place. 
 
The men were led by Tarik Weekes, who earned a 17th place finish, the highest of any York runner this season. Kyle Gomes was the next finisher for York, placing 65th.   
 
Lizzy Mahoney of Hunter College was the women's winner, while Nohea King of Castelton won the men's race.  Hunter was first in the team standings for both the men and the women. 
 
York will run at the Lehman Invitational this Sunday.
