Weekes, Ologundudu lead York at Metro Coaches Invitational
RESULTS
NEW YORK, N.Y.—Tarik Weekes finished fifth in the men's 800-meter run and Olabimpe M. Ologundudu was second in the men's high jump to lead the York College track & field team at the Metro Coaches Invitational held at the Armory in New York City Friday.
Ologundudu jumped a height of 1.88 meters, which was just short of Gwynedd-Mercy's Justin Turner's mark of 1.98 meters.
Weekes had an impressive run in the 800-meters, placing fifth in a field of 31 runners that included a number of NCAA Division I athletes. He finished the race in a time of 1:57.14.
For the women, Kemilla John led the Cardinals with a fourth place finish in the high jump, as she cleared a height of 1.45 meters. In the track events,
Joviette Frederick had the top finish, placing 11
th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.98.
In relay events, the men's sprint medley relay team, placed sixth out of 13 schools with a time of 3:40.76.
The team will return to action next Friday at the Gotham Cup Invitational, which is also held at the Armory.
