York Tops Webb in Men’s Tennis
RESULTS
JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College men's tennis team put on a strong performance against Webb Institute Tuesday afternoon, winning 6-3.
The Cardinals started off strong, picking up wins in the first two doubles matches.
Ayman Busat and
Andrzej Moczulski teamed up for an 8-3 first doubles win and
Iheanyi Agbor/
Michael Benavidez edged out an 8-6 win at #2 doubles.
York's singles play success mirrored that of the doubles victories. The Cardinals earned victories in each of the top four flights from Busat (6-2,6-3), Agbor (6-2, 2-6, 6-1), Moczulski (6-2, 6-2), and Benavidez (6-1, 6-1).
York improves to 5-9 overall while Webb ends the season with a 2-4 record. York may still have one match left, a makeup against St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn). However, the new date has yet to be confirmed.
