JAMAICA, NY— Lehman College rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the York College men’s volleyball team in five sets, 3-2 (30-24, 29-31, 19-30, 30-21 15-5), in a CUNY Athletic Conference match Tuesday evening.

York College is proud to announce its first ever “I am a Cardinal Sprit Day”.  The event will take place on February 20th in conjunction with the CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball quarterfinals. 

                                                            

The festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Health and Physical Education building.  A number of MAJOR prizes will be given out before and during the game.  Those prizes (which will be of the electronic nature) will be announced in the next coming days.  In addition, free t–shirts will be given out to all in attendance.  Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.

JAMAICA, NY—York College freshman Arturo Cabrera Jr. has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the period ending February 7, 2010.  It is the second straight week he has won the award.

JAMAICA, NY— For the third consecutive week, York College junior center Marcel Esonwune has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.  It is also the fifth time this season he has earned the award.

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s volleyball team won both its games at the CUNY Athletic Conference multi-match Saturday afternoon.  The Cardinals defeated New York City Tech 3-1, (30-27, 28-30, 30-21, 30-21) in the first match and came back later to defeat the City College of New York 3-1 (28-30, 30-25, 30-19, 30-25).

NEW YORK, NY—The York College women’s track and field team competed at the highly competitive New Balance Invitational Saturday and 4 x 400 relay team made an impressive showing.  The Lady Cardinals squad of Alexandra Nkrumah, Chianne Ashman, Alexis Schloss and Kadisha Wickham placed fifth overall in a time of 3:58.47.  The team came in behind four division I schools and beat out all other division II and III schools.
