6.30.2009 | Women's Volleyball

York College Athletics will hold a women’s volleyball interest meeting on Monday July 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education building.  All those interested in trying out for the team should attend.

The 2009 York College men’s soccer schedule is now available online.  York will open the 2009 season at home on September 2 when they host Old Westbury at 3:30 p.m.  Their conference opener will be on September 17 at Medgar Evers College.   Click here to view the full schedule.

The 2009 York College women’s volleyball schedule is now available online.  The Lady Cardinals will open up the season on the road at the United States Merchant Marine Academy on September 1.  Their home opener will be September 10 at 7:00 p.m. against Ramapo.  Click here to view the full schedule.

JAMAICA, NY— The York Athletic Department hosted its 34h Annual Athletics Awards ceremony Tuesday evening.  The department honored the accomplishments of the York student-athletes during the 2008-09 season.  Highlighting the list of award winners were Marcel Esonwune and Alexandra Nkrumah, who were name male and female Athlete of the Year respectively.

5.26.09 | Men's Indoor Track & Field, Women's Indoor Track & Field

JAMAICA, NY—York College junior, Alexandra Nkrumah, earned her third straight Athlete of the Year award to headline a sweep of the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field post-season honors.  Kadisha Wickham was named Rookie of the Year and Thomas Pope earned his second straight Coach of the Year award.

5.13.09 | Women's Indoor Track & Field

RANDALLS ISLAND, NY – The York College women’s track and field team won its third straight City University of New York Athletic Conference championship Tuesday, in dominating fashion.  The Lady Cardinals squad amassed 231 team points, which was a remarkable 80 points more than the second place team, Lehman College, who finished with 151 points.

5.13.09 | Men's Indoor Track & Field

RANDALLS ISLAND, NY— York College freshman Chinedu Agu finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.35) to lead the York College men’s track and field team during day two of the City University of New York Athletic Conference championships Tuesday.  Agu also added a third place finish among the senior colleges in the 200-meter dash (23.18).  York was not eligible to score as a team.

RANDALLS ISLAND, NY – Through the first day of competition at the 2009 City University of New York Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the York College women’s squad holds a comfortable 40 point lead over its rival Lehman College.

RANDALLS ISLAND, NY— Kenny Jacquet and Chinedu Agu each scored in two events to lead the York College men’s outdoor track and field team at day one of the CUNYAC Championships Sunday.  York currently stands in fifth place heading in to Tuesday night’s finale

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women’s outdoor track and field team will be looking for its third straight title when they host the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island, beginning this Sunday, May 10.  Day one of events will take place Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and Day two will be on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

JAMAICA, NY— York College athletics is looking to add women’s tennis to its program in the Fall of 2009.  There will be a meeting for all students interested in playing women’s tennis next season on May 18 and 19 at 4:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.  If you are interested in playing, you should attend at least one of these meetings.
