Box Score

JAMAICA, NY   Elysee Vilsaint scored three goals and Roy Rambarran added two goals and an assist to lead the York College men’s soccer team to a 7-0 rout of Yeshiva University in its 2009 regular season finale Sunday.

The Cardinals dominated the game from start to finish.  Rambarran opened the scoring with a unassisted goal in the 11th minute.  Five minutes later, Rambarran would set up Hugo Cicanois for York’s second goal of the game.  Later in the half, with just eight seconds remaining before halftime, Vilsaint scored his first of his three goals.

York would add four more in the second half: two from Vilsaint, one from Rambarran and another from Ousmane Toure.

The seven goals for York matches a season high.  The Cardinals also netted seven goals in a 7-1 win over Purchase College on October 16.

In addition, it was the fourth multi-goal game for Vilsaint this year.  He now has 14 goals on the season which leads the CUNY Athletic Conference.

York closes the regular season with a record of 9-7.  Yeshiva falls to 3-8.  The Cardinals will open the playoffs on Wednesday at home. The pairings and times have yet to be announced.
