JAMAICA, NY Francisco Florez scored two goals, both of which were set up by Elysee Vilsaint, who finished with three assists and a goal, as the York College men’s soccer team defeated Brooklyn College 4-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference Quarterfinals Thursday afternoon.  With the win, York advances to the conference semi-finals for the fourth consecutive season and will battle Medgar Evers College on Saturday at 11:30 at the College of Staten Island.

The Cardinals struck first at the 23:00 mark when Vilsaint made a cross that Florez headed in for the first goal of the game.  Just 50 second later, Vilsaint once again set up Florez, who beat the keeper to give York a 2-0 advantage.

In the second half, Vilsaint would score a goal of his own, a conference-leading 15th of the season, to put York up 3-0.  After Brooklyn got on the board in the 71st minute, Vilsaint found Ousmane Toure off a corner kick, who put the ball in the net to give York a comfortable 4-1 advantage.  Five minutes later, Brooklyn would add a goal off a corner kick to make the final score 4-2.
