York Announces Year-End Awards
York Athletics

JAMAICA, NY— The York Athletic Department hosted its 34h Annual Athletics Awards ceremony Tuesday evening.  The department honored the accomplishments of the York student-athletes during the 2008-09 season.  Highlighting the list of award winners were Marcel Esonwune and Alexandra Nkrumah, who were name male and female Athlete of the Year respectively.

JAMAICA, NY— The 2010-11 York College Athletics season gets underway this week.  York will look to build off one of its most successful seasons ever, a year which saw the Cardinals capture five CUNYAC Championship and finish third in the CUNYAC Commissioners Cup. 

 

Starting things off will be the defending CUNYAC champion men’s soccer team.  The Cardinals will visit SUNY Old Westbury on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.  Later in the week, they will host their home opener against Trine University (IN) on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

York College will hold its annual Athletics Awards Dinner on Monday, May 24, 2010 in the gymnasium in the Health and Physical Education Building, beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m.  The dinner is open to all student-athletes and will feature awards and prizes.

A very important referendum is being included with the student government elections that are going on now.  Please help support athletics by voting yes for the referendum.  This money will help to provide better facilities and newer equipment for the York athletics program, which in turn will help the program continue to grow.

 

If you are a student-athlete, please be sure to vote yes and to pass the word along to your peers. Voting Ends on Friday, April 30th.
