Men's Swimming Finishes Fourth at CUNYAC Championships

BRONX, NY— The York College men’s swimming team finished in fourth place at the 2010 CUNY Athletic Conference men’s swimming championships held at Lehman College on this weekend.
Baruch College ran away with the event, scoring 1,056 points, followed by Lehman College with 873 points and Staten Island with 819 points. The Cardinals finished with 419 points.
The top performers for York at the championships were Aaron Bennett and James Kearney. After winning the bronze in the 50-meter dash on day one, Bennett added sixth-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.62) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.74). Kearney placed fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.30) and was also fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.38).
Vladislav Romanov and Nikolay Shevchenko of the College of Staten Island were named Co-MVP’s of the Championships.
