York Competes at Farmingdale Invitational

FARMINGDALE, NY– The York College track and field team competed at the first ever Farmingdale State College Invitational Saturday afternoon. The women's squad combined to win three events, while the men placed in five events.
Women's Recap
Taneisha Renaud won the 10,000 meter run in a time of 48:35 and Alexis Schloss finished third in a time of 48:44. In the 400-meter hurdles, Alexandra Nkrumah also took first place, crossing the line in a time of 1:07.20. The 4x400 relay team of Nkrumah, Schloss, Wendella Rankin and Kadisha Wickham earned first place, blowing out the competition with a time of 4:11.30. The second place time was 4:30.01.
Men's Recap
Chinedu Agu led York with a second place finish in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.31 and Ronel Phillip came in right behind him at 51.55. In the 800-meters, Tarik Weekes placed second in a time of 2:02.71, while the 4x400 relay team of Agu, Phillip, Weekes and Lance Fleming ran a time of 3:29.52, finishing in third place.
York will run at the Osprey Open next Saturday.
