RANDALL'S ISLAND, NY— The York College women's track and field team finished first and the men's teams took second place at the New York Relays held at Icahn Stadium Saturday afternoon.  Kadisha Wickham ran an NCAA provisional time in the 200-meter dash running a time of 24.93 in the prelims before winning the finals in a time of 25.22.

 

Some other top finishes include Denecia Gardiner in the 100-meter dash (13.10), Taneisha Renaud in the 1,500 meters and Alexandra Nkrumah in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.11).  Nkrumah also placed second in the 800-meters (2:21.39), while Allana Wilson added a second place finish in the 200-meter dash (27.44) and a third place finish in the javelin (20.04m).

 

The Lady Cardinals also swept the relay events, winning both the 4x100 (49.54) and 4x400 (4:05.87). 

 

On the men's side, Chinedu Agu placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (50.58) and second in the 400-meter hurdles (58.90).  Tarik Weekes placed fourth in the 1,500 meter run (4:17.37) and seventh in the 800-meter run (2:03.29), while Ronel Phillip added a fifth place finish in the 800-meter run (2:02.13). 

 

York will run at the CUNYAC championships on May 2nd.
