Nkrumah Wins Two Events at Osprey Open

POMONA, NJ— York College senior Alexandra Nkrumah led York at the Osprey Open Saturday, winning the 100-meter hurdles (16.03) and the triple jump (10.76m), while also placing second in the 400-meter dash (59.40).
Also contributing for the women in the meet—which was held at Richard Stockton College—was Antoinette Smile, who earned a third place finish in the triple-jum, with a distance of 9.87 meters. In the 100-meter dash, Denecia Gardiner placed fourth in a time of 13.20 and Wendella Rankin (13.37) and Allana Wilson (13.38) came in right behind her. In the relay events, the 4x100 relay team of Nkrumah, Rankin, Wilson and Gardiner won in a time of 50.86.
For the men, Chinedu Agu and Lance Fleming led York with sixth place finishes in 400-meter dash (50.83) and the 1,500 meter run (4:22.08) respectively.
York will run on at the New York Relays on April 16.
