Weekes, Ologundudu Sweep CUNYAC Track Awards

JAMAICA, N.Y.—York College track and field athletes, Tarik Weekes and Olabimpe M. Ologundudu have swept this week's CUNY Athletic Conference/ Con Edision Track and Field Awards.  Weekes has been named Athlete of the Week, while Ologundudu earned Rookie of the Week Honors.

Weekes placed fifth in the 800-meter run at the Metro Coaches' Invitational on January 6. The junior from Queens finished the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57.14, placing him fifth in a field of 31 runners, which included Division I and unattached runners. Weekes is currently ranked number one in the conference in the 800-meter run, putting him 0.48 seconds in front of the next closest time. 

Ologundudu earns this week's top men's indoor track & field rookie honors after placing second and 13th in the high and long jump, respectively. In the high jump, the freshman jumped 1.88 meters, just shy of the first place distance of 1.98 at the Metro Coaches' Invitational.  The Brooklyn native jumped 5.38 meters, placing him 13th in the long jump. Ologundudu currently ranks second in all of CUNY in the high jump and fourth in the long jump.
