Women’s Swimming in 7th Place; Men in 5th After Day One of CUNYAC Swim Championships

RESULTS

BRONX, N.Y— The York College women's swimming team is in seventh place and the men's swimming team is in fifth place after day one of the 2012 CUNYAC/ Applebee's Swimming & Diving Championships held at Lehman College Thursday.
 
Baruch College holds a strong lead after day one on the women's side (288 points) over Hunter College (251 points).  On the men's side, Baruch (264 points) is also leading but is narrowly ahead of Lehman College (259.5 points).
 
York's best results were a pair of 11th place finishes by Averie Mohammed and Kyle Gomes.  Gomes swam the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:51.92 and Mohammed finished the 50-freestyle in a time of 29.84.
 
York will continue with day two of the championships on Friday at Lehman College beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tickets can be downloaded online for free by going here.
