MEN'S RESULTS I
WOMEN'S RESULTSBRONX, N.Y.— The York College cross country team hosted the 2014 York Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday. Yeshiva University was the big winner as they won both the women's 6k race and the men's 8k race.
The Maccabees edged out Essex County College in both races, finishing with 53 points in the women's race and 27 in the men's race. Individually, Scott Kulm of Cooper Union won on the men's side with a time of 28:55, while Jennaya Hield of Essex won the women's race in 25:34.
York was led by
Alana Johnson, who placed 13th in a time if 29:12—which was the highest finish for any Cardinal so far this season.
Christiana Wallace was just behind her in 14th place with a time of 29:32. As a team, York was fifth with 88 points.
The York men's team did not have enough runners to qualify for team scoring. Their top finisher was Roy-don Wallace, who placed 15th in 33:45. That was also the highest finish for York this season.
York will return to action next Sunday, when they run at the College of Staten Island Invitational, held at Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island.
