Men’s Tennis Star Busat Named CUNYAC Second Team All-Star and Wins Third Straight Sportsmanship Award
JAMAICA, NY – York College junior men's tennis player
Ayman Busat took home a pair of awards following the announcement of the 2012 CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Tennis All-Stars. Busat was named a Second-Team All-Star, in addition to winning the Sportsmanship Award for the third consecutive season.
Busat was voted to the second-team by the CUNYAC coaches, despite a 4-9 record on the 2012 season. Busat, who played #1 singles and #1 doubles all year, was always matched up against the opponent's top player. Though his record was not that strong, the coaches saw that he was clearly one of the top players in the league. It is the first time he's been named to the All-Star team in his three-year career. The Sportsmanship Award is nothing new to Busat, however, as he now owns this award for the third straight season.
"Ayman is fair and equal of with his treatment of all;” said Coach
Greg Jackson. “He's very genuine, respectful and gets along with everyone. He has a great all-around game and he is truly a great sportsman"
Guy Goren and Joe Laskowski of Baruch College were awarded the Player and Rookie of the Year Awards respectfully, while the Bearcats' coach Florin Giuglescu earned Coach of the Year Honors. The complete team is listed below.
